This photograph was taken outside the Post Office on Silver St, Trowbridge. It was a Thursday morning and you can see a queue of people waiting to collect their benefit money. Child benefit, unemployment and Old Age Pension benefits were collected in cash by people visiting the Post Office with their benefit book.
